Did you know that the very first Ramadan observed by Muslims was in the 2nd year of Hijrah (624 CE)? It was during this Ramadan that fasting became obligatory, and the Battle of Badr, one of the most historic battles in Islam, took place!
📖 ‘O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may attain Taqwa (piety).’ (Quran 2:183)
The Prophet ﷺ also said:
📜 ‘When Ramadan begins, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained.’ (Bukhari, Muslim)
