BREAKING CA Bar Exam News!
In a MAJOR decision today, The CA Supreme Court ruled the following:
-The subjects on the exam will be lessened to 9 subjects, excluding Corporations, Agency and Partnership and Remedies. Adding Employment Law, Administrative Law and Family Law. These changes will not be implemented for at least two years.
-7 skills including counsel and advice, litigation and others will be required to be tested on the exam in some format. I assume likely these skills will be tested in essay and performance test format.
-NO reciprocity for out of state attorneys to get licensed in California without taking the exam.
-The Court DENIED the approval of a portfolio bar exam as an alternative route to licensure.
-The Court denied lowering the passing score from a 1390.
Please let us know your thoughts below on these changes. Keep in mind, that we are still waiting on decision about a remote exam for 2025.
