A 60 year old lady presented with severe backache and pain over both the legs. She was evaluated and diagnosed to be suffering from L3-L5 Canal stenosis with Grade I L3-L4 Spondylolisthesis, severe degenerative changes at L4-L5 and bilateral lower limb neurogenic claudication. In view of severity of symptoms and long standing complaints, she was operated in form of L3-L5 posterior decompression, L4-L5 discectomy and Transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion with L3-L5 postero-lateral fusion. She was mobilized the same day. Physiotherapy was started and was then discharged the next day.
The patient has been completely relieved of her leg pain and is able to walk by herself without support, though she presented to us on a wheelchair. That's the beauty of Spine surgery.
