A fast start on the road saw the Polar Bears (8-1) build a 17-9 lead after one quarter of play before Payne DeGray took over in the second frame. The 6' 5" senior scored 10 of his game-high 23 points in the stanza, to help Colonel Crawford (5-0) tie the game at 25-25 heading into the half.

DeGray continued to have his way in the painted area with seven more points in the third, as the Eagles outscored Margaretta 29-15 over the middle two quarters. Trailing 38-32 to start the final stanza, the Polar Bears put together a run that evened the score midway through the fourth quarter.

Perhaps the most impactful shot of the night came from senior Peyton Baker, who drilled his second 3-pointer that stretched out the Eagles lead to two possessions. Some Brayden Holt free throws and a pair of defensive stops down the stretch allowed DeGray to put the finishing touches on the victory with an uncontested layup in the closing seconds, as the sold-out crowd inside Mac Morrison Gym celebrated Crawford's biggest win of the young season.

Holt would finish the game with 11 points and 8 rebounds to support Payne's double-double while Baker and Parker Weithman each added 6 points on 4 triples. Julian Washington led Margaretta with 16 points, while Judah Keller added 10 and Kale Bailey scored 9.

Next up for the unbeaten Eagles is an N10 rivalry game vs Wynford (2-4) to close out 2025. The Polar Bears will travel to Vermilion (5-5) on Jan 2 in their return to SBC play.
