Short Summary:

The Response Counter Terrorism Team or more popularly known as 'GarudaForce Karnataka' is the special forces unit of Commandos, trained under Centre for Counter Terrorism (CCT) of the Internal Security Division (ISD), Karnataka.

Based in Bangalore, they will reach any part of the city within 30 minutes when a situation arises. They cater for emergency situations in other parts of the state as well.

The team is trained in special counter-terrorism skills such as Computer Aided Design (CAD) & Navigation, Explosives, Communication, Rope work, Medical First-aid & PIN (Planning, Intelligence & Negotiation).

It is a wing of the ISD & is mandated to train the police personnel from all wings of police in counter terrorism activities.

The training of trainers (ToT) programme will be imparted by the Garuda Force to all the Probationer Sub-Inspectors from the Karnataka State Internal Security Force (KSISF), Civil Deputy SPs.

The team of dedicated trained personnel will be monitored by the Superintendent of Police.
