Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has officially resigned from the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP), alongside 21 members of the State House of Assembly, including eight members of the House of Representatives, and 44 local government chairmen. Governor Yusuf made the announcement in a letter addressed to the Chairman of the Diso-Chiranchi Ward of the NNPP in Gwale Local Government Area, with the resignation taking effect from January 25, 2026. While his immediate political destination remains unclear, the move ends months of speculation about his exit from the party.
