[Weather] Nationwide monsoon rain through Friday Heavy rain alert for central regions

The monsoonal rain front will keep lashing downpours across South Korea. For tonight, heavy rain alerts are issued across many inland regions. Central parts of the country and Jeollabuk-do Province are currently under advisories. For parts of Gangwon-do and Chungcheongnam-do provinces, alerts have been raised to warnings.

Until tomorrow, the Jeolla-do provinces and Jeju Island will see heavy downpours of up to 250 millimeters. Torrential rainfall is also in the forecast for northern Gyeonggi-do Province, with up to 200 millimeters in store. Parts of central regions, including Seoul, and the Gyeongsang-do provinces can expect up to 150.

Keep in mind that locally heavy downpours of 30 to 60 millimeters per hour are possible. Excessive rainfall in a short period of time may lead to flooding and landslides. Please take extra precautions beforehand.

Tomorrow, Seoul and Busan will start off at 23 degrees Celsius.

Central regions will be sweltering for the daytime, while the south coast will be breezier. Highs in Seoul will get up to 31. Daejeon 30. Busan 26 degrees.

On Saturday, baking hot conditions are expected in Seoul, with highs of 34 degrees.
