Thrift Store Prices Higher Than Goodwill?!

Описание: I went thrifting with Kim on a little Florida road trip, hoping to score better deals in the suburbs around Orlando — Maitland, Winter Park, and Casselberry. The dream? Cheaper prices and less picked-over shelves. The reality? Some of these thrift stores were MORE expensive than Goodwill… and that’s saying something.

We hit 4–5 thrift and resale shops and honestly? One massive store had tons of inventory but nothing with resale meat on the bone. High prices, alarm tags on everything, and zero flip-worthy finds. Thrift fail of the week.

The day was saved by browsing high-end consignment stores — too rich for my reseller blood, but wow, it was fun window-shopping real designer pieces in person. We saw Louis Vuitton shoes, Prada bags, Michael Kors, Brahmin, and lots of trendy puffy woven leather bags (hello, Bottega Veneta vibes). It felt like browsing among giants — fun to look, not fun to buy.

We also checked out Funk’s vintage clothing by the pound. Digging was fun, but at over $9 a pound, heavier items added up FAST. Lesson learned: pound stores can sneak up on your wallet. They do have a massive location in Orlando that might be worth a future trip.

We fueled up with bagels in the morning and found the real MVP of the day — New Zealand–style soft serve ice cream made with fresh fruit and honeycomb. Honestly? That ice cream carried the whole trip on its creamy little back.

In the end, I came home with just a few pairs of jeans for myself and a couple of vintage picture frames for resale. Not a big thrift haul, but a real look at what thrifting near Orlando is like right now in 2026 — rising prices, picked-over racks, and sometimes… Goodwill actually wins.
