Hi everyone!
I currently have some downtime and thought I'd finally get around to recording myself playing the play-along tracks from @TommyIgoeMusic @HudsonMusicDrums book Groove Essentials books.
Here is my take of "Groove 1 Slow" from Tommy Igoe's Groove Essentials 1.0, the first of his two "Groove Essentials" books. This track is about as straight ahead as it gets. 16 bar form. Four times through the form. That's all she wrote.
The drum set I am playing is a 1967 Ludwig Super Classic 13/16/22. Snare drum is a Ludwig LM400. 13" Zildjian K Hats, 20" Paiste Giant Beat on my left, 22" Sabian Legacy Ride on my right.
I used five microphones.
Two Warm Audio WA251s as Glyn Johns style overheads, a Shure Beta 52a just inside the BD port hole, a Neumann TLM102 about 1.5 feet centered in front of the BD resonant head, and a Shure SM7B on the snare drum.
