In episode 2 of season 5, Jesus goes wild…
…he starts shouting and flipping tables and goes full-on Indiana Jones inside the temple.

But, here’s the thing…it’s not what you think.
And what I mean is…it’s not what Jesus is doing that’s the problem…it’s why.

On the surface, it appears like Jesus is just upset about corrupt money practices in the temple…
…but when we actually start digging into the Bible, we realize that this couldn’t possibly be the case…
…for one, there is actually no historical evidence that there was corruption in the temple courts…

…and second, the only suggestion of corruption that we do have is a verse that Jesus quotes from the OT that we tend to take out of context.
So what really is going on here?

Why does Jesus actually sack the temple? And why does it matter?
