At the highest grossing thoroughbred auction in history, Canuck Racing Club connected with a daughter of Connect at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
Bought for $150,000 as a yearling, Kentucky-bred Connect is a multiple graded stakes winning sire who earned $1,370,000 in 8 starts (6-0-1). Never registering under a 91 eSpeed, this son of Curlin ran six races as a 3YO and won five of them with eSpeeds from 103 to 117 including the Curlin Stakes (1 1/8 miles on dirt), the $1.25 million G2 Pennsylvania Derby 1 1/8 miles on dirt, and the $500,000 G1 Cigar Mile Handicap on dirt. Before retiring to stud, he came back as a 4YO for one mile-long race in the dirt, winning the G3 Westchester Stakes by 4.74 lengths with a 116 eSpeed.
This filly's dam, Via Ann, was sired by Street Boss, a record-breaking Kentucky-bred sprinter sired by champion sire of sires Street Cry whose progeny includes over 130 stakes-winners.
