Massive Brahmaputra river before it enters the plains, in Arunachal Pradesh

Описание: We fly down the Simang river, a tributary to Siang river in Arunachal, and follow up a small tributary of fresh water coming down from the forests around Boleng. The Siang flows into Assam to become the Brahmaputra.

For an angler, the confluence is the right spot to cast away for mahseer and other sporting fish, as they come up to feed from the fresh water coming in from the forest, rich as it is with feed - both live and organic. A pair of fisherman are doing just that a few meters away.

The gorge of the Brahmaputra is quite rocky in this valley and the river emanates from the high mountains with a lot of energy, carving its way out with much abandon.

Fly around the rain forest environs of the valley, with village paths criss-crossing the jungle and a distant village fire showing up around cultivation in the middle of the forest.

We fly over thick bamboo groves in the rain forest and come upon a village with extensive cultivation on stepped fields. A huge patch of rice fields emerges in the forest as does a jhum or slash and burn cultivation fire where the forest has been lit afire to create fresh farming habitat.
