Kenya's government says it has prioritized reforms in land registration, as well as electricity and revenue collection as it strives to improve the country's investment climate. According to Kenya's cabinet secretary for Industry and Trade, Adan Mohamed, progress has been made in getting credit, starting a business, registration of property and dealing with construction permits. He also said the government is working on measures to protect minority investors. Mohamed added that investment sentiment has improved since the reforms under the Business Environment Delivery Unit, in partnership with the Kenya Private Sector Alliance launched in October 2014. He bragged that the country is now ahead of its competitors on the continent, largely South Africa and Nigeria, in attracting foreign direct investments.
