Earthquakes, landslides, heavy rain and flood concerns for Town of Concrete this week

Описание: Be prepared for a sudden evacuation. That's the message some homeowners in the Town of Concrete are being told as the Skagit River near the town is expected to reach major flood stage again.

This comes as landslides, earthquakes, and relentless rain have impacted the area this week. Concrete rests at the confluence of the Baker and Skagit rivers -- just north of town is the Lower Baker Dam.

Emergency officials have been going door-to-door warning residents who live in the 100-year floodplain about the potential for evacuations due to dam releases that cause rapid river rises in the Skagit River.

Four small earthquakes were recorded near Concrete, adding to residents' worries. Tusten said he felt the house shake, saying, "It was kinda startling when it hit. I thought the landslide started."
