King Alaric stood on the castle wall
He looked at the peasants, so weak and so small
He said "Build me a tower, go pierce through the sky,
I am greater than gods, and I never shall die."

Now the King is a beggar, he sleeps in the dirt
With a crown made of thorns and a ragged old shirt

"Beware of the pride that rots in the bone."
