The Reizei Family is known for its tradition of waka and has had a residence on the north side of Kyoto Imperial Palace since the Edo period.
The residence is the oldest remaining court noble house in Japan.
The Reizei Family has been inheriting ancient books and documents for about 800 years, since the late Heian period.
We are pleased to announce that we have created a video about the Reizei Family, including an introduction to the new construction of the Kita no Okura.
This video has been produced with the support of Arts Aid KYOTO, a system for culture and arts support in collaboration and cooperation with Kyoto City.
We have also added an English page to the official Reizei Family website.
