"Get Back" was originally written by Paul McCartney and credited to the Lennon–McCartney partnership. The song was created during the sessions for what would become Let It Be in early 1969. It began as a satirical commentary on anti-immigration sentiment in Britain but evolved into a more straightforward rock track over time (MacDonald, 1994). The Beatles recorded several versions during the infamous “Get Back sessions,” which were marked by internal tension within the band (Lewisohn, 1988). The final single version, produced by George Martin, was released in April 1969 and credited to "The Beatles with Billy Preston," who played the iconic electric piano part (Miles, 1997). The song later appeared in the Let It Be film and album, cementing its place in Beatles history as a symbol of both their creative energy and growing divisions (Doggett, 2010).
