Today I’m in the town of Shipley in West Yorkshire, visiting George’s Café to try their Big Breakfast — a recently established and increasingly popular spot on the edge of the town centre. On the menu you’ve got the small, the veggie, the vegan, and of course the big breakfast, which comes with two bacon, two sausages, two fried eggs, beans, mushrooms, hash brown, black pudding, tomatoes and your choice of toast or fried bread. I’ve swapped one slice of toast for fried bread at no extra cost, with a mug of tea on the side.

It’s just after opening time and the café is already filling up. In this review I break down every item on the plate, score each category, and reveal the final Breakfast Club Score for George’s Café. With standout eggs, cracking fried bread, and solid café staples across the board, this breakfast makes a strong case for itself and lands comfortably in the “great” bracket.
