In "A Date with Miss Fortune", Jack (Ryan Scott), a struggling writer who has lost his faith in love, meets Maria (Jeannette Sousa), a vibrant Portuguese woman, by chance in a diner. It feels like love at first sight, but there's a catch: Maria’s life is governed by her traditional family and a superstitious belief in "The Seer" who predicts her every move.

As Jack tries to win her over, he finds himself caught in a whirlwind of cultural misunderstandings, meddling relatives, and hilarious bad luck. To be with Maria, Jack must navigate her father’s disapproval (played by the legendary Joaquim de Almeida) and decide if he’s willing to let a little bit of magic—and a lot of family—into his life.

Inspired by the real-life relationship of the lead actors and writers, this film is a funny and heartwarming look at how love can overcome even the most stubborn traditions.
