In this video, we explore how to create Massive Brooding Cinematic Drones that sit heavily in the mix and create an instant sense of dread and scale.
While these sounds feel complex and overwhelming, the technique behind them is surprisingly simple. I show you how to use Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) across three stacked oscillators to create a thick, shifting "Wall of Sound" perfect for Dune-style sci-fi, dark thrillers, and tension cues.
We aren't just making noise; we are sculpting a mood.
In this tutorial, we cover:
The Foundation: Stacking 3 oscillators to build a massive low-end wall.
The Movement: Using LFOs to drive PWM for that slow, brooding evolution.
The Width: Spreading the voices to consume the stereo field.
The Vibe: How to dial in the "darkness" for immediate cinematic tension.

If you need to create an atmosphere of impending doom with just one note, this technique is for you.
