Описание: On February 25, 2026, Volcán de Fuego produced a striking eruption precisely aligned with a large waxing gibbous moon. The lunar disk appears oversized due to its low position near the horizon, creating a strong visual contrast as incandescent ejecta rises across its surface.

Explosive bursts loft glowing material above the crater while ash and gas briefly silhouette against the bright lunar backdrop. The near-full moon phase provided strong illumination, enhancing the clarity of the plume and ballistic trajectories.

Fuego remains one of Central America’s most consistently active stratovolcanoes, generating frequent Strombolian to Vulcanian activity. This brief alignment between eruption dynamics and lunar positioning resulted in an unusually symmetrical and centered composition.

Here’s their website: https://sancayetano.gt/. The camera is about 8km away from the top of Fuego. Sometimes you'll be able to hear the eruptions. Due to the speed of sound, it'll take about 26 seconds after you see an explosion before you hear it.
