Last year I ran my first 100 mile ultramarathon in 23:40, just sneaking under the elusive 24 hour race time and earning the coveted "100 Miles - One Day" belt bucket. As I look ahead to this year's Umstead 100 in less than two months I wanted to take a look back at the sub-24 hour pace plan I developed and compare it to how I executed that plan last year. I'll use this information to help me develop a new pace plan for my lofty (but hopefully attainable) goal of running sub-22 hours in this year's race.
Follow along as I give a brief overview of UltraPacer.com, the website I use to develop my own pace plans as well as pace plans for the athletes that I coach. (See the link below to my TeamRunRun coach's profile if you are interested in hiring me as a coach for your next ultramarathon challenge!) After the overview I download my gpx file from last year's race from Strava and then upload it to the website to review how I actually performed on race day versus the plan that I set out for myself.
As always, thank you so much for stopping by to watch the video!
