Wales has a strong Welsh language history despite the fact that nearly all of its citizens speak English well. In reality, a recent poll found that about 30% of people in Wales are fluent in Welsh, which is largely due to the rise in Welsh-medium schools.
I can personally attest that anytime I attempt to converse in Welsh, I am greeted with nothing except warm appreciation and support. They are sincerely grateful for the effort.
For this reason, before traveling to Wales, it is thought that everyone should become familiar with a few essential Welsh terms and phrases.
You'll need years of experience speaking the language to become fluent, but this video will teach you the fundamentals for saying hello.
