We spent the day at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Entry was R100 each for adults upon presenting an SA ID, or R220 for tourists.
The park offers a gift shop, restaurant, manicured grass and well groomed beds. There are a few boardwalks throughout the park as well for a leisurely stroll - be sure to check out the Centenary Tree Canopy Walk.
For more serious hikers, the start of the Skeleton Gorge trail can be found at the base of the mountain inside the park.
