Resident Evil: Survivor (PS1) Mouse Injector Hack

Описание: This game doesn't get a lot of attention compared to the main entries in the series for obvious reasons. It is a very linear game with there only being a few or just one path to follow at any time. The sort of adventure game quality of the main games is lost as there's no combining of key items, puzzle solving, or even needing to know when to use an item as it is just used automatically when needed. Also, specifically with the US version of the game, the GunCon support was removed so you're stuck with using the controller which has bad aim-lock that snaps the camera and crosshair to the enemy you're shooting making aiming very jerky and too easy. The game is also just not very difficult in general because of how slow most the enemies move, lots of space to run around them, and the fact that you have infinite handgun ammo so you never really feel overwhelmed.

So the mouse injector hack allows you free look while walking around and while aiming. It also locks the crosshair to the center of the screen like a standard FPS and disables the awful aim-lock. In the vanilla game you can't even look up and down manually which is a shame because the environments look quite nice for PS1. There are a lot of nice models and textures to see that you would normally not be able to inspect. The hack does make the shooting pretty trivial but it's still a fun one to play through.

The graphics, music, background ambience, sound effects, and the characters make it feel very much like any other Resident Evil game on the PS1. I think being able to look around and take in the atmosphere helps to create the uneasy feeling that you get when playing a Resident Evil game instead of feeling like you're locked on the tracks of a bland roller coaster. So if you skipped this one due to it's many problems then I would say check it out with the mouse injector as it makes the game a little more enjoyable.
