Along the way, we pass multiple groups of children performing the Barong dance, a traditional Balinese performance symbolising protection and good fortune.
Penglipuran is famous for its commitment to culture, sustainability, and the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, balancing harmony between humans, nature, and the divine. The village also maintains a strict zero-waste policy and does not allow motorbikes inside its main street, creating a peaceful and clean environment for both locals and visitors.
Toward the end of the walk, we explore the Penglipuran Bamboo Forest, a serene natural extension of the village known for its tall bamboo tunnels, cool air, and tranquil ambience.
