► This launch site at Birg has interested me for 10 years! I was able to launch from there in ideal, calm wind conditions! That was my project! Before Christmas last year, I couldn't launch from there due to lack of snow, as rocks were exposed – I could only launch from further down. I prepared very well for the launch beforehand!

Hello, my name is Steffen Hirzel and my passions are very diverse!

Starting with Mountaineering & Climbing, I now fly with the „chute“, if the conditions allow it, from the mountain back down into the valley. However, not only this so-called „Hike & Fly“ or „Climb & Fly“, but also the sole exercise gives me a lot of joy. I am enthusiastic about the so-called „Speedriding“, „Speedflying“ und „Parakiting“!

But I also like to be out and about on my own doorstep, where the mountains are more like small hills: whether Bouldering, Sport Climbing; or Cross-Country Flying with a high-performance glider is even possible in some areas where I live - and if there's no or too little wind to „screw up“ in the thermals, a quiet „gliding“ is a welcome opportunity for „training“.
