I packed into one of my favorite forest spots for camping with my dogs Maggie and
Juni, along with my beloved pack goats Bill and Levi. It was an amazing remote
wilderness alpine lake bathed in beautiful Autumn colors backed up by a
magnificent rock faced mountain. The fish were biting (Cutthroat & Tiger
Trout) so I enjoyed a catch & cook dinner on my (self-designed) Firebox
Stove outdoors cooking gadgets. I also made my "best yet" desert...
"Peach Cobbler Pie" an absolute masterpiece of textures and flavors.
I have to say that my "Ultra Cook Kit" worked flawlessly! The kit’s chambered
cooking stone tempers the heat from below, keeping me from ever over cooking
anything in it…it’s almost fool proof! Everything always turns out golden brown
for me. The bigger challenge is heat from the top which usually involves me
building a small wood fire on the lid which quickly gets the job done. This
trip was a lot of fun and very successful both in fishing and with the camp
cooking results. An absolute blast!
