A report says that the government of Gujarat has not started a single Special Employment Exchange (SEE) for people with disabilities.
There are 40 SEEs across the country, but not even one in Gujarat. The government has not introduced any scheme for unemployment allowance either. The CAG also found that payment of pensions and scholarships to eligible people was not done in a fair manner by state authorities.
No action plan has been made for the distribution of welfare schemes for people with disabilities and not even an audit has been done to find out the number of PwDs in the state.
