• Mukti Thalam: It is believed that if the bones of the deceased are placed in the Noyyal river, they turn into white stones and the Lord chants the five-letter mantra "Namasivaya" and grants salvation. Due to this, it is revered as a place of salvation.
• Biravap Talim and Iravap Palm: The 'Biravap Talim' (tuliya tree) and 'Iravap Palm' (palm tree) in front of the temple are considered miraculous trees. It is said that the seeds of Biravap Talim do not germinate wherever they are sown, and the Iravap Palm lives for many years.
• Kamathenu's Hoofprint: It is believed that the hoofprint of Kamathenu's calf Patti is still visible on the main Patteeswarar Linga.
• Bhairava: Here Bhairava appears as Gnana Bhairava, without a dog chariot. It is said that this is because it is a place of liberation.
