Tractor trailer collision on Highway 17 in Awendaw causes fuel spill

AWENDAW, S.C. (WCIV) — A collision involving two tractor trailers has led to the closure of both southbound lanes on Highway 17, just south of Geurins Bridge Road, according to the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities said the accident occurred when both vehicles, traveling in the same direction, merged and collided, causing one of the trucks to jackknife. Emergency personnel, including fire units, have been dispatched to the scene to manage the situation.
