🎙️ About the Speaker:
Emma Harrison is the Destination Development Manager at Visit Inverness Loch Ness, leading initiatives in food and drink, outdoor activities, and events. Beyond her role, she's a published travel writer and serves on the board of a local community cafe and cycling workshop. Emma is an avid runner, having participated in numerous long-distance events, and her writing often reflects this passion. In her presentation, Emma will share a compelling story submitted to Green Destinations' Top 100 Stories. The story revolves around uniting communities across the vast Highlands region to celebrate Scottish shortbread. Local bakers competed in eight locations, celebrating culture, tradition, and local engagement. The initiative culminated in a grand final event in Inverness, showcasing bakers, destinations, and local food and drink producers, complete with celebrity chef judges and engaging activities. The success of this inaugural event is expected to endure, bringing sustained benefits to the region.
