Life of A Dark Rose is Pennsylvania rapper, Lil Skies' highly anticipated mixtape to start off 2018. On December 13, 2017, Skies announced the project, its title, and the official cover art through a tweet that has since been deleted. Nine days later, he revealed the tracklist via the popular streaming service, Apple Music.

The tape was originally slated to
release on January 12th of the following year, however, it was published two days earlier on Wednesday, the 10th.

Life of a Dark Rose was preceded by four singles, all released in 2017: “Lust,” “Signs of Jealousy,” and two others that both featured Maryland-based rapper, Landon Cube—“Nowadays” and “Red Roses.”
