The bulldog traditionalists had their hearts further broken in 1990 when French company Renault bought out the American company. A flurry of poodle vs bulldog jokes ensued but the bottom line was that the Yankee iron of the bulldog breed would never be the same leading through changes of global truck ownership to where today Mack is owned by the global Volvo Group.
This video is blatantly promotional and I was contracted to make it after the French takeover. However it still has historic value with the trucks of the time. There is a look at Mack Trucks HQ and assembly line at Richlands (Brisbane), all of which is now shut down with Mack truck building in Australia merged into the Volvo factory (also in Brisbane).
This video plugs the Mack product but it is from a different time and has, I think, some historic value.
