episode 7 of dirty pair aired august 26, 1985. though dated in some aspects, it still serves as an important episode where the main characters explicitly support transgender folks. even with their initial shock used to play up drama, it's great for the time and honestly does better than some things do today.
for some context: this show takes place in the far future (which explains the statistic given in the clip). the episode revolves around a father who relies on shady tactics and hires the dirty pair to get his son back from the woman who "kidnapped" him, while hiding the fact his disdain for the woman is entirely due to her being trans. the episode has a bit of a bittersweet and open ending, but the general idea is things will hopefully work out and the dirty pair give the couple their full support.
