Inverted Row – suspension assisted (TRX) is useful for runners to strengthen the upper back and arms while keeping the spine in a stable position. This exercise supports posture during long runs, improves arm drive control, and balances upper-body strength without heavy loading. Body angle and foot position make it easy to scale from very easy to challenging.
Instructions:
Hold the suspension straps with both hands and lean back with arms extended, body in a straight line from head to heels. Heels stay on the ground and core is engaged. Pull the chest toward the handles by squeezing the shoulder blades and bending the elbows. Lower the body slowly and under control back to the starting position.
Avoid common mistakes:
• letting the hips drop or body lose alignment
• pulling with the arms only without using the upper back
• shrugging the shoulders toward the ears
• moving too fast without control
Variations:
• with more upright or more horizontal body angle
• with feet elevated
• with pause at the top
• slow controlled lowering
• alternating grip or handle height
