Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent — the Church’s forty-day season of repentance, discipline, and preparation for Easter.
In this reflection, we explore the meaning of the ashes, their biblical foundations, and the ancient practice of public penance in the early Church. Lent is not about sentiment or seasonal self-improvement. It is penitential. It is deliberate. It is ordered toward union with Christ.
Beginning this Sunday, we will walk through Lent together following the Church’s liturgical rhythm, with weekly reflections and short daily applications rooted in prayer, discipline, and conversion.
You are dust.
You are called to repent.
