🚨Operatives of the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, intensified their crackdown on illegal mining, extending operations to the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality and the Cape Three Points Forest Reserve in the Western Region.

A separate operation was also carried out within the Cape Three Points Forest Reserve in the Ahanta West Municipality to disrupt ongoing illegal mining activities.
Out of about 20 suspected illegal miners at the sites, three were arrested. They have been identified as Joseph Mensah, 22; Abdulia Dauda, 27; and Kabre Daniel, 27.
During the operations, the taskforce seized and destroyed six Chanfa machines, eight water pumping machines, several water hoses, as well as various makeshift structures and personal belongings belonging to the miners. An additional five water pumping machines were seized
