In this video, I start to get more into the philosophy behind my technical approach to violin playing. Movement is key, and we want to practice moving in a way that is both consistent and repetitious, while also being free, spontaneous, and fluid. This takes years of practice, but the goal should always remain at every level of development.
In this video I start to get into the ways that I teach and practice this philosophy within the context of the simple element of playing open strings with the bow. These concepts can be introduced at any time in a student's learning, and widely applied to other technical situations, and with an approach that suits the level and needs of each individual student.
