In this Japan street food tour, we made sure to turn up hungry because we heard that there were plenty of great food options to try. As we aren't fans of raw seafood, we were skeptical about how much we could really eat but we were amazed by the variety for non-seafood lovers! From the curry croquette to the red bean taiyaki, takoyaki, onion and bacon ball (which was actually fishcake), $1 sake, prawn tempura, and wagyu gyoza, there's something here for everyone.
We were also lucky to visit the historic streets of the Gion geisha district to experience the traditional side of Japan. As the sun was setting behind the famous Yasaka shrine, the lamps outside each Machiya house and teahouse turned on and reflected their light against the old cobble stones. It was magical to be transported into the past, even with the throng of visitors that had also come to visit.
