Königswinter is located on the River Rhine in North Rhine Westphalia in Germany. It has a railway line which is extremely busy with freight traffic to and from the North Sea Ports and industrial Northern Germany / industrial Southern Germany, and pretty much anywhere in Europe between including the Rhone Valley route through France and the routes through Austria.
This video features night time freight traffic from Königswinter main station, and by the towns level crossings. The freight includes containers, wagon trailers, cars, logs and much intermodal traffic. This rushes through at high speeds causing much noise which is a contentious issue in the Rhine valley, but the price of being an industrial powerhouse.
