PAF Trainer Aircraft Crashes in KP | Two Officers Martyred | 11:30 AM News Update | 15 June 2026
A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) trainer aircraft crashed near Mardan city in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday during a routine training mission, resulting in the tragic martyrdom of two officers on board. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the aircraft was conducting a standard training sortie when it met with an accident under unclear circumstances.
The martyred officers have been identified as Flight Lieutenant Muhammad Qasim Abdullah of the Pakistan Air Force and Lieutenant Taha Abbasi of the Pakistan Navy. Both officers embraced martyrdom in the line of duty, highlighting the risks and sacrifices associated with military aviation training.
Following the incident, authorities immediately launched emergency response and rescue operations in the area. The ISPR further confirmed that a formal board of inquiry has been constituted at Air Headquarters to investigate the cause of the crash and determine the factors behind the accident.
Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, along with other senior military leadership, expressed deep sorrow over the loss. They extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyred officers and praised their dedication and service to the nation.
The incident has cast a shadow of grief across the armed forces as investigations continue.
