On day 2 of Shymkent, we flew to Almaty in the evening. Almaty is reachable by both train and flight. The flight was about an hour or so.
After checking into our hostel, we took recommendations from the hostel owner and went to the Navat Restaurant. It sure was a popular place and people made a beeline to get seated in the restaurant. The food was amazing but unfortunately we couldn't try the dessert as there were too many orders and the chefs were too occupied to make it.
The next day, we explored the green market where they sold a variety of items from dry fruits, pickles, meat, fruits, flowers and ready to eat dishes.
After that, we went to visit the Zenkov's Cathedral and the Park of the 28 Panfilov Guardsmen.
We also walked around various parks Al located within the walking distance of the above mentioned destinations.
The last destination was the Central Mosque.
