Описание: Suresh Kalmadi speaks about Commonwealth 2010 in India. He says, "Last sixty years of our independence they have not held a Common Wealth Games so it is quite a challenge. We had applied for it before and we had lost but this time we were determined that we have to get the bid up to now the Commonwealth Games have been held in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and in England but hardly to a third world country so we felt that it was our due and we should get the Commonwealth Games and when they made a bid we went to various countries, various international conferences to convince a lot of people that India can host the games and then we had the bid in Jamaica where we were pitted against Hamilton Canada so we had to convince a lot and there finally we won the bid that's a great feeling and I remember the joy in the whole country that we had won the bid for the Commonwealth Games and we had made a lot of commitments there that we'll host great Commonwealth Games and will have good infrastructure and the games will go off well so we got the bid because of that and we moved on.

The last games that held were in 1982 the Sian Games and that's over 27-28 years back and the games have moved on organizing the games is not the same as organizing the Asian Games technology had moved forward there were a lot of things which are not there in the Asiad which we had to do now."
