UXO - nicht explodierte Munition = Blindgänger. Laos gilt als das weltweit am stärksten bombardierte Land. US-Amerikanische Luftangriffe zielten auf die Zerstörung des Ho-Chi-Minh Pfades, des Versorgungsweges des Vietcong im Vietnam-Krieg, welcher größtenteils durch Laos führte. Große Teile des Landes sind noch heute mit Millionen solcher Blindgänger verseucht, die jährlich mehrere hundert Zwischenfälle mit Verletzten und Toten hervorrufen. UXO Lao ist ein international unterstütztes Programm, welches Aufklärungsarbeit unter der Bevölkerung über die Gefährdung, sowie die Bereinigung der verseuchten Gebiete durchführt. Dem gewidmet mit aktuellen Informationen ist das UXO Museum in Luang Prabang.

** UXO = Unexploded Ordnance. Laos is the most bombed country on this earth. US Air attacks are executed to destroy the Ho-Chi-Minh-Path, the main supply line of the Vietcong during the Vietnam War, which passes along through Laos. Until today major parts of the country are still contaminated with millions of UXOs, which causes every year several hundreds of incidents with injured and deaths. UXO Lao is an international supported program to educate the local people about the danger and to clean up the contaminated territory. Dedicated to that is the UXO Museum in Luang Prabang.

Estados Unidos llevaron a cabo ataques aéreos para destruir la ruta Ho-Chi-Minh, la ruta de suministro principal del Vietcong durante la guerra de Vietnam, que paso por Laos. Así todavía grandes partes del país están contaminados con millones de UXOs, que causan cada ano cienes de incidentes con heridos y muertos. UXO Lao es una programa con ayuda internacional para educar la gente local sobre los peligros y para limpiar los terrenos contaminados. De ese se dedica el Museo UXO en Luang Prabang.
