In the winter semester 2024/25, the Center for Research on Gustav Mahler and Viennese Modernism of the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna hosted a masterclass with Thomas Hampson on Mahler interpretation.
The American baritone Thomas Hampson has long been recognised as one of the most innovative musicians of our time. He is one of the world's outstanding Mahler interpreters and has received countless international awards for his unique artistic skills.
Thomas Hampson is an honorary professor of philosophy at the University of Heidelberg and an honorary member of the Royal Academy of Music in London.
