👗 Discover the charm of a custom-made wardrobe.
I've always dreamt of having a wardrobe filled with skirts, blouses, and dresses from a different era, and that dream has led me down the path of becoming a vintage seamstress. I've learned to draft my own patterns to ensure a perfect fit because what I want to wear isn't always readily available in stores.
And guess what? Since I started wearing what I truly love, nothing bad has happened. In fact, I've realized that I can dress for myself and wear what I sew every day. From wet set pin curls to aprons, lipstick, and sometimes a corset – it's all about expressing my unique style.
Wear what you like and be true to you!
One of my favorite discoveries on this sewing journey has been the Haslam dress cutting system, which originated in Great Britain between 1920 and 1960. It has opened up a world of sewing possibilities, making it easier and faster than using mass-produced patterns. This system is now my go-to for creating my vintage-inspired wardrobe, with a particular love for 1940s sewing.
As my sewing journey continues, I'm sure my style and preferences will evolve and change. But for now, I'm all about the timeless elegance of the 1940s.
Whether you're into vintage sewing, pattern drafting, retro fashion, or simply enjoy following someone's sewing diary, this channel has something for you. Join me on this exciting journey of creating a custom wardrobe, one stitch at a time.

I have always wanted a custom sewn vintage wardrobe (skirts, blouses, and dresses) from a different decade than which I was living. This 1940s vintage sewing inspiration and a desire for a and very personal vintage wardrobe has led me to become a vintage seamstress and learn how to draft my own patterns that custom fit my body because what I want to wear isn't really easily available to buy Since nothing bad has happened at all since I starting wearing what I actually like, I figured why stop? Maybe I really can simply dress for me and that I can absolutely - on a daily basis - wear what I sew compete with wet set pin curls, aprons, lipstick, and sometimes a corset – For No Other Reason than I want to.
Wear What you Like and Be True To You.
The Haslam dress cutting system that came out of Great Britain between 1920 and 1960 has opened up an entire world of sewing that I am finding to be easier and faster than using a mass produced pattern. This system is my go-to system for creating what I am wearing. 1940s sewing is my personal favorite right now. I’m sure this will evolve and change.
