Here is my own take on one of the most remarkable works from what was the tragic yet great musical career of Steingrim as a musician. Selvhat stands as a powerful banner of his legacy—one of his most defining marks. I also cannot ignore what that project became and what lies beyond conventional DSBM: a confession of life turned into music.
I firmly believe that Steingrim was an incredibly versatile musician, someone who seemed to embody a different character in each band he took part in, channeling something unique and unmatched. Selvhat was no exception.
As for my work here, it went through many versions and re-recordings. It was an arduous and repetitive process, but this is the definitive version. This is not just a simple acoustic cover—the goal was retransmission.
