Описание: Newly released depositions from Los Angeles City firefighters are shedding light on what happened before the deadly Palisades Fire.

Testimony reveals concerns about smoldering hotspots after the initial Lockman Fire was declared contained on New Year’s Day. One firefighter says he urged crews to stay and douse the area, but operations wrapped up after discussions with state park staff.

Days later, the Palisades Fire erupted in roughly the same location, killing 12 people and destroying approximately 6,000 buildings.

Attorneys say this is only the first wave of testimony, as lawsuits involving the City of Los Angeles, the state, utilities, and insurance carriers continue to unfold.
