Commissioned by the Embassy of Spain in India, Reimagining Isaac Albéniz produced and directed by Sahil Vasudeva, rearranges the works of legendary Spanish Composer and pianist, Isaac Albeniz, performed for the first time ever with Indian Classical instruments.
The three-month process involved studying 200 year old scores of Albéniz, transcribing them to Hindustani Classical and orchestrating it with sitar, sarangi and percussion, whilst finding ragas that overlap in Albéniz.
Previously performed at Royal Opera House Mumbai, Instituto Cervantes, Kolkata Literature Festival and JJ Valaya’s Special Couture Show at India Couture Week - all receiving a standing ovation.
